Weir takes the bronze

American skater Johnny Weir won his first world figure skating medal by finishing third at the championships in Sweden. Canada’s Jeffrey Buttle took the gold and France’s Brian Joubert the silver.

In a free skate where one top contender fell completely apart and two others had repeated flaws, Johnny Weir’s conservative but nearly error-free skating won the bronze medal Saturday at the World Figure Skating Championships in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Bronze probably looks good with his furs. Bravo, Johnny. –Jim Buzinski

Johnny’s got pretty decent jump technique but how did he learn it? How do figure skating coaches who never did a quad teach a quad? Visit http://www.jumpsareking.com
