I think people need to realize that a hell of a lot of stigma is placed on being homosexual. I could write a book (should) on the number of violent outbursts I have gotten from guys over the last few years who came on to ME! I think if I were not a bigger guy, I think I would (maybe) not be here to type this. One guy pulled out a saber sword after I would not say to him that he was asleep while we fooled around. Me calling 911 tell them who’s house I was in and his name perhaps saved me from injury. He hit the door so hard with that sword that the glass shattered. That is one story I have of many on men hating themselves for their gay tendendicies.

Enough with that silly talk, the sport’s only gay when you’re watching it, and getting hard watching the guys fight. Since I do not get those feelings I do not see it as gay, and as someone who does the sport- I sure as hell don’t get aroused when I’m fighting as sex is not on the mind.

There’s nothing wrong with being a gay MMA fighter. I happen to be a bisexual IBKB (Irish Bare Knuckle Boxer) and I only grope the other guys groin in half my matches. For all you neo-puritan, neo-con Republicans out there, I’ll have you know that Jesus is my lord and savior. The bible does not condemn homosexual desire or behavior. For starters, I have been openly Bi-ssexual since about the age of 15. When I say openly, I mean, That wasnt a person in voled in my life at the time that didn’t know. Girlfriend mom step dad, hell my first man was a 6’3 280 solid biker that that was a Phoenix Police offficer and a biker. BTW also my girlfrieds father. He is the one that taught me dont ever give a ransid rats ass what people say or think about you. Well, he got killeed on the job however to this day, I am now as of ls month 38 I have always been a fighting mother fucker, The true test for me was the very fisrt date I went on with my with I told her that I am activly Bi. She just thought that was awsome. I relieved cuz I really liked her. That been 21 years ago, but I have been a major fan of both fight clubs an I do know for fact there are atleast 4 gay/bi fighters. I dated two.. I would love the chance to go with Shad.. If anything just to talk.

I respect any person who knows who they are and aren’t afraid to be themselves. Good for Shad, the gay community, and MMA as well. It show that this sport is about who can fight and can’t regardless of race, sexual orientation, political views ect.

However, I have to disagree with those who view BJJ positions as homoeroticism. Broken bones, crushed windpipes, and bumps and bruises do not translate to sexual encounters…unless you’re a sadist…

While I can see why a gay male would enjoy watching two physically fit men roll around while wearing very little (just as I would love to watch two scantily clad women wrestle in a jello pit), I think is a slight against the intense training and conditioning these athletes go through to just pass it off as a homoerotic display of sexuality, gay, straight or otherwise.

I think that Nick 27 (posted above) said it very well.
