If you attended last night’s San Jose Sharks at Dallas Stars NHL playoff game, you saw a game that did not end until 1:25 a.m. local time; on the East Coast, people watching Versus at that hour saw the game end at 2:25 a.m. What everyone saw was Dallas winning a 2-1 thriller that took four overtimes. A regular, non-OT NHL game has 60 minutes of playing time. These two team played an additional 69:03 of extra time with only 15-minute breaks between periods. Dallas won the series, 4-2, and will next face Detroit. First off, the Stars all want a four-hour whirlpool and a long nap. –Jim Buzinski

This is why I love the NHL… so much drama, so much suspense… I loved every second of it!

I stuck to my “one OT” rule and went to bed. I mean it was past midnight already…sigh….

One of the advantages of West Coast time! I saw a Web alert that it was in the 3rd OT and turned the game on until the end.

I’m disappointed that blueraider has a “one OT” rule.
There was great action and superb goaltending.

I have a playoff overtime rule – no sleeping until the puck goes in.
