‘Goofy Homo’ knocks out Kimbo Slice

Seth Petruzelli, a last-minute replacement, needed only 14 seconds to knock out previously unbeaten Kimbo Slice on Saturday night in a mixed martial arts fight. What was strange was what Deadspin found on Petruzelli’s MySpace page, where he described himself as a “goofy homo.”

I AM A GOOFY HOMO THAT DOESNT ACT LIKE A FIGHTER AT ALL. I DO IT FOR FUN NOT CAUSE I LIKE TO FIGHT…I JUST HAPPEN TO BE GOOD AT FIGHTING…..AND LOOKING GOOD ;)

So does this mean a gay guy KO’d Slice? Not exactly.

While there are some “interesting” photos of Petruzelli on MySpace (see below), his bio describes himself as 28, straight and married (he calls her “my sexy biiatch.”) He says he has opened “my latest business venture, a smoothie king, with my woman.”

On the other hand, not many straight guys would use pink type on a black background for his MySpace page. Or post this: “i kissed a guy and i liked it, the taste of his cherry chapstick.” Given the number of homoerotic photos with “gay” in the caption, Petruzelli might be straight but play gay on the Web.

Update: Dan Wetzel of Yahoo Sports contacted Petruzelli and got this response:

“I’ve been happily married for two years and been with her for five years, so I want to put that to rest right now. I’m officially 100 percent not gay. I’m in love with her very much.”

Is one’s sexual orientation in some way significant to fighting, if so how?

Homosexuals tend to be fierce fighters. Many ancient and traditional peoples have encouraged homosexual relationships among soldiers: Kelts, Zulus, Spartans.

The Thebans (who broke the Spartan winning streak) had their Sacred Band, composed exclusively of male couples: they all died fighting at the hands of Alexander the Great (himself a homosexual). The story goes that the bodies were found in pairs: one guy would fall and his boyfriend died fighting over his body.

Well we will see if Steve Kunough the owner of Smoothie King Franchises will let him open another franchise, considering I tried to open one in San Fransico and was denied due to, to many as they put it HOMOS.

 This guy IS a closeted gay man. Like so many, many, many before him, he should come out (for his own mental health). I came out when I was 22. He is only punishing himself with this “I am married to a woman” b.s. Not my problem. He needs to get a spine and “a pair”.

There was an article written on Rogers Sportsnet and in it, this was said…

I sincerely hope they can clean up Kimbo’s lack of media savvy — as well as Petruzelli’s MySpace page, which is currently filled with pictures that he may now be regretting taking.

I wonder if this would have been written if he was in poses with women rather than men.

    Hey there, Dot!
Fess up now, dude, isn’t your dispassionately phrased “question” really a passive aggressive way of stating an opinion? Why don’t you pose that question to your newfound buddies the next time you find yourself in the same position as Matthew Shepard did on October 6, 1998?
    After all, “I’m just sayin’!”
Get real, at least with yourself.

David W, I don’t see how you can possibly call a guy who openly posts pictures of himself licking another guy’s tongue or dressed up in rubber shorts and makeup “closeted.”

I know quite a few straight guys into fetishy scenes who would be comfortable having pictures like that taken — but would a closeted gay guy?

Petruzelli may be bi or heteroflexible (he doesn’t really say he isn’t) but if he dresses up like that openly, it doesn’t seem to me that he’s likely to be hiding much.
