So, asked a question in the press conference about feeling like part of the team after his 8th-inning two-run, pinch-hit homer — a total BOMB deep into the right field bleachers — gave the Phillies a 7-5 win over the Dodgers and a 3-1 lead in the N.L. Championship Series, Matt Stairs had this interesting comment:
"You want to get that one big hit where you feel like you're part of the team … not that I don't feel like I'm part of the team, by no means, but when you get that nice celebration coming into the dugout and you're getting your ass hammered by guys, it's no better feeling than to have that done."
Matt, win the World Series this year and I promise you all the ass-hammering you want! (By the way, Stairs is Canadian and hit his homer on Canada's Thanksgiving Day, which is now also Philadelphia's Thanksgiving Day as well.)
