Major League Baseball and the NFL are still making money hand over fist. It's a disgrace to fire people at this time in this economy when those leagues and teams are still making huge profits. Now is the time for those leagues to step up and protect their employees.

This is why it always sounds like total BS to me whenever any of these teams or leagues refer to themselves with phrases like, "we're a family". Yeah, right!! I don't know any families that fire, lay off, cut and trade their "family" members at the first sign of trouble.

Yeah the sports leagues are firing staff but the Yanks can go out and sign Sabathia for that $140 million contract and the Mets can give K Rod that deal while both teams ask NYC for MORE money for their fucking new stadiums. It gets harder and harder to support pro sports anymore. We have teachers and cops and firefighters going without raises and millions of Americans losing their jobs but these teams keep coming up with a new "highest salary ever" each year.
