They said “the older gentleman talked with his hands a lot but he was cute, he reminded me of my father. We had him believing we thought they were straight. Everyone knows two guys in a hot tub means mathcing rainbow towels are nearby. I think he just wanted to kiss the cute one.”

As a transplant to the south after having lived in the Midwest, on the East Coast, in Arizona and abroad for a short period I have noticed something unique about the south. For some of who have not spent much time in the south there can be a very confusing physicality that some “suthern gentlemen” take. I have called it many things, but finally settled in calling them a Male Southern Belle (like Beverly Leslie from Will and Grace but just a little less). It could be like the ladies of Designing Women all were men dressed with mens clothes, but kept there feminine mannerisms. It is a swish that some straight men have. I do believe that many of them actually are straight, but they set off the Gaydar because of some communication styles.

After seeing Cyd on the Vblogs I would say his mannerisms are basically masculine, and he is in my eyes he is obviously gay. I thought after being “out” in every other environment I would move to the south and people would know I was gay, the same way I see Cyd as gay. I was mistaken. There are lots of people in the south who don’t see me as gay, which is stunning to me. I have been out in print and some people still don’t think I am gay. I don’t believe it is because I am masculine, I just think they don’t think of people in those paradigms and know many straight guys who anywhere else would be called gay.
