I almost feel sorry for Mark McGwire. First he cries before Congress. Then his baseball career is called into question and nearly disgraced. And now his own brother Jay is pitching a book in which he claims he gave Mark steroids. Jay knows a thing or two about the drugs: He’s a bodybuilder and took them for years himself.
Mark is a man I think most would like to forgive because his reason wasn’t nefarious-it was for survival. My bringing the truth to surface about Mark is out of love. I want Mark to live in truth to see the light, to come to repentance so he can live in freedom-which is the only way to live.
That and the potential for a big pay day for a tell-all book about his much more well-known and richer brother.
I wonder if Lance Armstrong has a brother . . .
Hat tip to Deadspin.

Seriously… what’s with all the bashing of Lance Armstrong? He not only had a state of the art training facility and staff, but he had some world class cyclists on his TEAM that TOGETHER helped him win the Tour de France year after year after year.

I wonder if Mark ever oiled up Jay before a compition? And if so: Where is the video of that?

I never realized how big ol’ Mark got. He’s a big dude anyways but look at those guns. His brothers a douche bag and it’s no surprise he’s a Christian. They prey on weak minds and failures. It’ll be interesting to see if Big Mac ever gets to Cooperstown.
I know a bunch of maniacal bike racers and none of them have a problem w/Lance. He never got busted for doping and is an easy target for slander. His arrogance in his younger days didn’t help him much though. I love the guy. He’s an awesome competetor.

Hey Happybeer……… you’re point on about ole Jay McGwire coming off as a douche bag but you need to hold your fire when it comes to this “and it’s no surprise he’s a Christian” stuff. As a practicing Catholic who happens to be a gay, I don’t much care for your broad brush strokes when it comes to Christianity. Assuming that you are a gay man, I never cease to be amazed at how some gay folk become rightfully incensed when terms like faggot, queer, cocksucker etc…. are hurled by others but at the same time, take the kind of shots like you did in your post. I’d hope you’d read and think about your words before pushing the “send” button next time.

Hey IrishMuscle. Yeah I am gay, not a believer and can be a dick about Christianity and if that offends I am sorry. I sincerely appologize to you for that and everyone else for getting off subject. I should muzzle my public comments. Not good to generalize. My entire extended family went born again and thats what I was directing my ire at. I should have been more specific. My problem w/the organized Christians (particularly the evangelicals) is their intollerance when it suits them and the “us vs. them” game they play to build a collition based on hate and fear. The bible has 5 refrences to homosexuality as incompatable (my term) w/Christianity and 456 refrences to love, tollerance, forgiveness and inclusion. I don’t see much of that coming out of preachers or politicians mouths who are publically speaking out against issues important to me and using a faith I dont believe in to support it.
I bet ol’ Jay Mac won’t tithe 10% of his book sales to his church.

No harm no foul Hoppybeer, apology accepted………but if you ask me, Jay Mac’s congregation shouldn’t start counting that 10% just yet………5 gets ya 10 the book doesn’t see the light of day after this time next week! 15 minutes and counting brother Jay…..tic tic tic
