Draft a gay sports bar in L.A.

There’s a new Facebook group looking to start a small movement in Los Angeles to get a gay sports bar opened. From the group:

This is a group for anyone and everyone who would love to have a Gay, Lesbian and Open Minded Sports bar in Los Angeles. A place where you can cheer on your team and talk about how hot they look in tight pants. There are Gay Sports Bars in Boston, NYC, D.C., Phoenix, Ft. Lauderdale, Columbus and Chicago. There should be one in Los Angeles.

Don’t forget the sports bar in Kansas City, Outa Bounds. I was in KC for the 1st/2nd rounds of the NCAA tourney. My friend and I stopped by and watched the other games there and had a great time. Enjoying toasted raviolis while watching KU with Jayhawk fans was a great way to spend the Friday lunchtime. I just wish there was one in San Antonio. Thanks for the post Cyd.

A gay sports bar in LA would be interesting. I lived in LA for 15 years. LA has to be by far the worst big city sports city in the country – I’m talking about the overall city here, not singling out gay sports fans.

Now, all you individuals who live in LA and are actually good sports fans don’t get your panties in a bunch. I realize there are plenty of great sports fans in LA. But the city overall is a terrible sports city. In the 15 years I’ve lived there I never once sensed a buzz in the city created by sports that I’ve experienced in NY, Chicago, Boston, Philadephia and other great sports cities.

The Spotlight in Hollywood has sports on the TV all the time and lots of the guys are really into it. They’ll definitely be playing all the March Madness games and please don’t let them get started when football season rolls around.

However, my Lakers and Kobe’s ego get NO RESPECT in that place!!

Generally if there’s a game you want to see that’s not on, the bartender will put it on if you ask.

Theoretically speaking TRUNKS is a gay bar in West Hollywood.

That said, if Cyd & Jim want to open up at Sports Bar called Outsports, I’d work for two weeks as a bar back for free!

Actually I dont believe LA as a city deserves any professional sports franchise. Way too apathetic out there. LA has had a shot at 3 professional football teams and lost all 3.

Both the Rams and Raiders moved out of Los Angeles in the 1990s. Not sure what the third team would be that Chris is referencing.

I’m from WeHo. Haven’t any of you been to Barney’s. Beanery? Get more than three homos in there and it turns into the gayest most homo erotic sportsbar on the west coast!

Mike, I get Chris’s point about NFL teams, but the post is about sports bars. Hence my question.
