Every blogger gets their little fascination topics, and one of mine is Michael Irvin. He was on Sean Hannity’s show last night talking about his upcoming TV series, 4th and Long on Spike TV, and the troubles from his past. It’s those troubles that opened Michael’s eyes to the struggles in life and that have developed Michael into a non-judgmental gay-friendly voice in the sports media.

I was particularly impressed with how Michael talked about spirituality. Michael is a deeply religious Christian, but he didn't push his religion on viewers. Michael didn't sit there and talk about Jesus and the Lord and the Bible, he talked about his spirituality and his need for it. While Hannity tried to push Michael to say something along the lines of "God is the only way to salvation," Michael didn't take the bait and kept a positive, inclusive tone. My admiration for him continues to grow.

Watch Michael's interview on Hannity and a preview of 4th and Long (premiering this Monday) after the jump.
