This is what I’m talking about. The Detroit Red Wings against the Pittsburgh Penguins for the Stanley Cup Finals. It doesn’t get better than this. The Penguins Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin are on fire with 28 points a piece in the playoffs so far. But don’t ever count out the Red Wings, even if they are a bit beaten and bruised missing stars Nicklas Lidstrom and Pavel Datsyuk. Skill, consistency and tons of experience will lead them to victory. I’m sticking with my prediction from the beginning of the season that the Red Wings will repeat! Any one else????

The Penguins are not better than they were last year, and they lost then so they will lose again. Detroit should win, probably in 5 or 6 games.

I said this in the Discussion Board – I’ll repeat it here. Crosby, Malkin and Fleury of the Pens remind me of Gretzky, Messier and Fuhr of the early 80′s Edmonton Oilers who lost the final to the New York Islanders in 1983 – but came back to beat the Islanders in the Finals the following year. Pens in 6!
