The Philadelphia Eagles have signed Michael Vick to a two-year contract. Jay Glazer of Fox says that Vick signed a one-year, $1.6 million contract with a team option for the 2010 season.
I am curious as to what Eagles and other NFL fans think of this. (And I have already seen one person refer to Vick’s new team as the “Beagles.”)

Andy Reid, Genius. lol.

If Vick shows anything, I bet McNabb gets traded to the Vikings. But I think it is awful that Vick is back in the NFL.

I knew he would find a team lol…and being that I’m in the Philly area I am not pissed. Football is a business. What he did was horrendous but I knew he would find a team. I’m not sure how much playing time he will get. I can imagine them bringing him in for trickery and he will have to deal with the signs and the jeers and the boos, which he deserves. But I’m over it. People have done worse.

More fun from the ‘family friendly’ NFL.
You have a drug problem and beat up women, fine.
You murder dogs for sport. fine.
You are caught cheating, fine.
You’re gay, you’re out or you will literally going to be killed on the field.

Thank you badlydrawnbear for putting this into context.

I doubt many players in the NFL spent much time in the boyscouts, and Vick did serve the court appointed time for the crime.
Was it enough? … not my decision. However, if he messes up again, he’ll be out on his ear, just like “Pacman” Jones.
Can he be a good citizen? … only time will tell.

The man has a right to find a job, just as any other criminal coming out of the judicial system.

We live in a country were a vice-presidential candidate have stand in front of a live Turkey as it’s head is stuffed in a meat grinder or whatever that thing was and people chuckle.
Is a Turkey less than a dog? Is it because we keep dogs as pets that we think of them as human when they are not. In many countries around the world dogs are eaten as food. In certain parts of India they probably think we are barbarians for eating Cows.
What this really boils down to in my opinion is if you equate dog life with human life. If you don’t you won’t be able to forgive Vick no matter what he does. If you don’t then he’s already forgiven.

What I meant to write was, those who think dogs are equal to humans won’t be able to forgive Vick and those who don’t equate the two will most likely be OK with his return to football.
