The news that the Philadelphia Eagles signed Michael Vick to a contract shocked just about everyone in the Philadelphia region — not to mention those who have moved on but still have ties to the area. Case in point: Pink. The singer-songwriter was born in nearby Doylestown. She is also a vegetarian and major supporter of PETA. Thus, her tweeted reaction to the Vick news isn’t too surprising:
wow. michael vick in MY hometown, Philly. of all the places. I hope the fans tear him to pieces like his beloved dogs.
That remains to be seen. Reaction is mixed at best. Even those who feel Vick deserves a second chance are mostly ambivalent about it, and probably would have preferred he sign elsewhere. Will that change if he starts tearing up the league once he finally takes the field?
