I’m not picking on Glee, I love the show! As for life in high school, Glee is exaggerated. I have a 15-year old son, and can tell you that the shows portrays teens far more realistically than it does adults. Teenage life and high school are essentially non-stop drama and angst.

I haven’t watched the episode Mike to know the exact Bears reference, but growing up it it was well known that Walter Payton studied ballet (as was often mentioned to my gay ballet-doing, football-playing brother by his dance instructors when he would think about quitting)

Lousy clock management… They should have at least called a “delay of game” penalty. But who cares?

How do I love “Glee”? Let m count the ways, starting with Jane Lynch as the demonic cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester. Whenever she slithers onto the screen, she knocks her scenes out of the ballpark.

If you’re looking for a more realistic TV depiction of high school football, you might want to check out “Friday Night Lights” on DirecTV/NBC. Along with being an engaging drama, its football scenes are well done.

Glee is a freakin’musical (or a quasi-musical anyway). In musicals, real time stops and people start singing and dancing. Not a huge fan of the genre, but very cool in this show most of the time. By the way, the QB/Glee clubber mentions in this episode that the Super Bowl Champion Bears of the mid 80′s took dancing lessons as a team. Is that true?

I agree with Will. It is called poetic license , the little errors regarding the football rules have no bearing on the story line . I loved It ,it was fun

I’m not sure the producers of Glee are too concerned about portraying football, or high school life in general, accurately. Although it’s been a long time since I’ve been in high school, so maybe things have changed. In any event, it’s good campy fun.

Why do the sports scenes on TV always look so, so stupid. They get it right in film from time to time. You’d think they’d hire a consultant to work with the director and editor. Hmmmmm….
