Oh how quickly the stars of two Outsports faves are fading in the NFL. I’ve written before about the demise of Brady Quinn in Cleveland. It seems he’s on the precipice of losing about $11 million this year because he couldn’t hang onto the starting job there. He’s also put his Cleveland-area house up for sale; Odd time to sell a house unless you have to.
Then there’s Terrell Owens. He talked some big talk in the offseason, looking to prove the Cowboys (who cut him) wrong. He had his own reality show and competed on ABC’s Superstars show. Now he sits in the cellar of the AFC East and his stats sit in Neverland: Averaging 36 yards per game and recording only 1 score in his first six games with the Buffalo Bills. Those are averages he has never, not even in his rookie season, seen.
Quinn has the chance to find another home and be a backup somewhere, but Owens is likely done. And because he chose to go to Buffalo, he’s pretty much forgotten.

UhOh, all the Quinn fanatics are gonna come back out again and defend him and attack Cyd. Maybe they can make excuses like, his helmet isn’t long enough for his head and makes it tough for him to play.
As for TO, I’m just waiting for him to fake another suicide attempt or act up just to draw more attention his way. I highly doubt he will ever go quietly into the abyss without a huge stunt.

I read that yesterday about Quinn needing to put up his Ohio home for sale. Again, didn’t have high hopes for his NFL career. Its ashame but thats how it goes. You have to have talent to succeed as a quarterback and he just doesn’t have it. Maybe if he goes to another place and has a decent supporting cast, he may be ok but I never really saw big things for him.
As for T.O…..I can’t…I can’t I can’t I can’t with him.

@ Cyd: YOU LIE!!!

Good grief, it’s almost as if it is personal with Cyd. He never misses a chance to take a shot at Quinn.
Petty and childish but tiresome more than anything.

Tampa will most likely offer the entire team for Quinn. Hey, they can’t do any worse…or can they?

Leave Brady alone. He still does it for me in a big way and I don’t care one bit if he sucks (as a QB).

Being that I’m a football fan first, I don’t give a damn how good you look. When you suck, it doesn’t matter. Go be cute on the sidelines and stop stinkin up the field.

My understanding is that Quinn is “downsizing” his expenses, moving closer to wherever they practice, doesn’t need the house, isn’t asking for a trade, Browns aren’t looking to deal him, etc.
My understanding is that he is holding out for an offer from the LA Motion to be their starting quarterback.

Brady has accepted a position as QB on the Chippendale team.

Quinn may go to another team and do well. Look at Favre when he was at Atlanta. And Kerry Collins who was at Carolina. (Want to get a Panther fan going? Bring up Kerry Collins and his “my heart is just no into it. Bast**D.) A team with a weak quarterback situation may take him on for a second chance. Heck, even David Carr got a second chance.

The only reason Brady Quinn is not playing is because Mangini likes Anderson better for his long ball. The problem is, the Browns have no one to catch the ball. Quinn throws a more catchable ball and he is faster on his feet (a requirement for a Browns QB). It’s personal and political. Mangini can save $11 million and flex his own muscles on doing it his way. I just hope Brady plays somewhere.

If Quinn was all that he’d be starting. It’s not about money or politics. He’s had all of these years to prove himself in mini camp, in practice, in pre-season, and in season. He sucks guys. Get over it.

At some point, I’d hope that all of the Brady Quinn apologists would just look at the facts of the situation. He’s not that hot guys and Notre Dame does not deserve this level of obsessive loyalty. If he were black, you’d be saying it was racist. Geez

Jay, I think what we are seeing is obsessive hatred and obsessive loyalty. Quinn was a very good college QB and might be a nothing in the NFL, just like a lot of guys – remember very few make it in the NFL. He gets more attention than he otherwise would because he is handsome and played at a popular school. By the same token he does not seem like a bad kid and I don;t much like people who thrive on negativity or the woes of others.
In any event, as I read Cyd’s repeated obsessive drive-by postings regarding all aspects of Quinn and his life and then read the equally obsessive responses in defense of Quinn, it brings to mind a very funny quote from former Notre Dame coach Dan Devine: “There are two types of people in the world, those who love Notre Dame and those who hate Notre Dame. And frankly, they’re both a pain in the ass.”

The simple reason Quinn is not starting is that the Browns do not want to pay him an $11 million bonus if he takes 70% of the snaps.
Anderson sucks but he will be the guy until it becomes impossible for Quinn to reach the bonus goals. He needs a fresh start elsewhere. To judge him a bust after starting 6 NFL games is silly.

Good grief, I actually agree with Jim Buzinski!!!

Brady Quinn and his haterosexual friends went to a gay bar and attacked several gay men a couple years ago. I want nothing but Quinn’s absolute failure for that. He’s a bigot and he needs to pay.

So Jim, before the 11 mill was at stake, what kept Brady off the field? I don’t buy it. Randy Lerner is no Donald Sterling. Quinn sucks ass.
