I also think it’s just the character “speaking” although that still doesn’t justify his racial slurs

@ sportinlife: These guys sure as hell aren’t weak. Jericho easily tops as one of the best athletes in WWE. He has trained worldwide especially in Japan. Pro Wrestling isn’t a weak sport, completely the opposite. Although WWE is SCRIPTED (note that it’s different from fake), places like Japan and Mexico is a real sport and you sure as hell have to be tuff to keep up with the matches and schedule.

Maybe we should just give the word away. Stop trying to own it and just give it to the straight community as a way for them to put down another weak straight person.

We can keep queer and homo, although I hate them as well, and officially give away fag and faggot to the straight community.

Could we get Glaad on that? Some kind of public declaration? They really aren’t doing much else…

Oh boy. These athletes need to just keep their mouths shut period. Now we have a racist and a homophobe, or a self hating homo trying to cover up his DL ish (the way many guys are DL who are always talkin about f@g this and f@g that). The loudest ones are usually the ones who need to be looked at the closest.

These people are weak. The use of demeaning slurs is just an easy way to pump up their egos, and/or bank accounts, because they are too lazy to think of and/or do anything of real value to earn a living.

I saw the initial report on TMZ, and the next day they showed video of Hulk Hogan, who was asked about it and said something like “I bet Chris Jericho’s boyfriend is pissed.” I thought about writing a post about this, but decided against it because pro wrestling isn’t a real sport.

Or he wanted publicity and thought that was the cheapest way? Wouldn’t be the first time wrestlers made dumb mistakes. Look at WWE’s almost marriage of two male characters (which GLAAD praised on national TV until they realized they were duped), or John Layfield’s goose stepping and Nazi salute in the ring in Germany.

Not saying what he did was right, but it looks more like the Chris Jericho the character, rather than the person, like you’ve seen on VH1 and the like. But characters are always an extension of oneself so his half assed apology doesn’t hold water.
