Middle finger salute costs Titans owner $250,000

Buffoonish Tennessee Titans owner Bud Adams flipped the middle finger to Buffalo Bills fans during Sunday’s Bills-Titans game in Nashville. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell was in attendance. Adams later apologized and was fined $250,000 Monday by the NFL. Video:

    Yeah what he did was wrong…but that is one of the funniest videos I’ve ever seen.

    Interesting that the amount he was fined ($250,000) is exactly the amount suggested by Fox NFL analyst Michael Strayhan for “ocho cinco”, when Chad Johnson jokingly handed a dollar bill to a referee to suggest he wanted to buy favoritism. Strayhan and the other analysts (somewhat more reluctantly I might add) suggested the $20,000 fine Johnson actually assessed was a joke – the implication being that the fine should suit the person being fined. Which brings to mind the possibility that a $250,000 fine for an NFL team owner might also constitute a slap on the wrist. But he only insulted fans not the integrity of the NFL game.
