Photographer William Yang recently got Olympic diver Matthew Mitcham to sit down for a photo shoot. I love the outcome. Yang took raw images of Mitcham and his great smile and wrote on the prints. The series is called simply “Photographing Matthew Mitcham” and is presently displayed at a gallery in Sydney. Unfortunately, it looks like Christmas Eve is the last day of display; We have a few images here (after the jump), but hopefully Yang will post more on his Web site soon.

I like athletes being athletes a lot more than athletes being models, although diving is a borderline sport.
