Vanity Fair has released a bombshell issue that features Tiger Woods on the cover and in its crosshairs. Wearing a black skull cap and lifting a couple barbells, the picture of Woods conjures images of Allen Iverson, not the grand-champion family man we thought Woods to be two months ago. And the article inside the issue allegedly goes even further.
The Vanity Fair article, written by Pulitzer Prize winner Buzz Bissinger, claims Woods made a “series of profane quips” about sex and athletes during an unreleased 1997 GQ interview.
Woods, who was 21 at the time, reportedly said during the tape recorded interview that lesbians are “faster” at sex than gay men because women “are always going 69″.
He also reportedly said he “can’t figure out is why so many good-looking women hang around baseball and basketball”.
“Is it because, you know, people always say that, like, black guys have big dicks?” he said.
It’s becoming hard to believe some of the tidbits coming out about Woods. Is it possible that he was just a pimp-daddy horn dog with a foul mouth all along? And if so, why didn’t this writer publish these quotes 10 years ago? It seems a littly fishy to me.

These quotes from years ago is not news. These comments were reported at the time. So far, this is all I can see coming out of that issue: Vanity Fair digs up corpses and pastes on a provocative out-of-context photo in order to capitalize on the scandal. Very very trashy and probably lucrative.
Who knows if TW is as dumb as he was years ago when he made those comments (and I was inclined to give him a break), but it seems irrelevant to me right now.

Much of the material is from an article by Charles P. Pierce that is at least a decade old, if not older; it was obvious from the original that Pierce didn’t much like the guy, but it is an interesting article. (Note on that comment: I don’t like Woods, either.)

I think the photo of Tiger looking like he’s about to get on top of someone and do his business is hot. Other than that, these statements were reported on already. And I believe they were jokes.

I’m not sure if the Vanity Fair cover pic of Tiger is more funny or just sad.
Tiger had a solid middle-class, suburban upbringing. He attended Stanford University. As a two-year-old he appeared on national TV as a golfing prodigy. He’s been a privilidged multi-millionaire golfer since about the age of 20. He was such a nerd as a kid growing up that his nickname at Stanford was “Urkel”.
Now after all that he’s posing on the cover of Vanity Fair as a tough-guy thug? Please Tiger, just go away.
Reminds me of guys who are accountants, lawyers or chemists suddenly getting tatoos of skulls and crossbones, serpents, daggers, etc. TRYING WAY TOO HARD to be something they’re not.

I think the whole situation says more about the general publics willingness to see what they want to see in someone vs. seeing who they actually are.

Ummm…one of the things Tiger haters can’t stand about him is his rather foul mouth on the golf course. He’s always going on profanity laced tirades so this isn’t a shock. Furthermore, if he’s going to be criticized for some dumb comments he made at 21, people have WAY too much time on their hands. Pretty much everyone is/was an asshole at some point.

He is such a tool!! I don’t care that he got caught, what irks me is allegedly he has “always” been a womanizer, partier, “bad boy”. That’s fine, but don’t get married, have kids and STILL live that lifestyle!! Man up, hell the PGA could use a rockstar (and John Daly was not a rockstar), just don’t pretend you’re something you’re not. If you’re gonna be a pimp, then fine just don’t try and fool us with your squeaky clean wannabe image.
Sorry, I don’t like Tiger Woods, great player…but a tool and a drama queen.

I know nobody will believe me, but tiger woods likes to come over to my house and screw my dog while I blow my cat, we have a big bag of fecal matter that we smear over us all just before we begin the fest. We always have the same song on the mp3 player, I aint telling what that is though, that’s private,
and will stay between me, Tiger, Mr Tim and Pete.
