One of the storylines to be played out on the ice in the next couple weeks is the rivalry between ultra-fem figure skater Johnny Weir and Evan Lysacek, who pushes a masculine, macho image. The defending World Champion (despite finishing third at the U.S. Championships last year) is 24 and was born in Chicago; He now lives in Los Angeles where he trains and studies acting. At 6-foot-2, he’s one of the tallest men in the competition; Looking back well into the ’70s, I couldn’t find an Olympic gold medalist who topped 6 feet.
You can find Evan on Facebook. More photos after the jump. Also be sure to check out our Olympics blog.

The purse that falls out of his mouth every time he talks might be a little less fabulous than the purse that falls out of Johnny Weir’s mouth, but it’s still a purse. Macho image my ass.

Compared to Johnny Weir, Richard Simmons and Liberace are macho.

Hey, it’s refreshing that gay guys reflect contrasting images. Aren’t we trying to tell people that there is no one gay stereotype. I say, bravo for Lysacek and Weir!

at least Johnny doesn’t try to hide who he is. Evan just comes off as a jerk and a phony.
Go Johnny!

Hot guys come in all shapes and sizes, and our three-man olympic figure-skating team has something for everyone, except maybe some brown sugar.

Cyd,
Are we supposed to take the bait of linking to what is supposedly (and presumably) Evan’s actual Facebook page — and note that one of his “pages” is the Human Rights Campaign?
That HRC logo has always been a great way for teh gays to come out but to do so partially under the radar.

Take it from a faggot who’s almost 70 and didn’t come clean un-
til he was 38 – silence is golden until you’re ready to come out
of the closet.
