Even though Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe referred to quarterback Matt Cassell as like a girlfriend, he wants us to know he doesn’t mean it in the gay way. Bowe told Nick Wright of 610 Sports Radio in Kansas City about starting his second season playing with Cassell:
It’s like an extra year with your girlfriend trying to map things out. You know, those quarterbacks, they’re like my girlfriend. No homo.”
This is the same idiot who bragged about players on the team “importing” women to hotel rooms for sex on the road. He’s also the same player suspended four games last season for violating the league’s ban on using performance-enhancing drugs.
At least he cleared up his sexual orientation. I wouldn’t want anyone to think someone as moronic as Bowe is a homo. It gives us all a bad name.

No offense, but this article is gay! (Pun Intended) He didnt brag about women, he said it happened and he turned one down. He also wasnt suspended for performance enhancing drugs, it was a dietary supplement. I understand his comment was offensive, but he didnt mean to offend the gay community. However, to see you lying on him and twisting the facts is even more offensive. Seriously, you can spice this up all you want but dont flat out lie about it.

I agree with Doug. I don’t think he was being offensivie. Not the brightest bulb on the tree obviiously, but I think he just couldn’t enunciate “we’re not gay.” I mean “No Homo.” Kind of neanderthal-like response. Seems more like an oaf than homophobe. Let’s not overreact to everything. Personally, I find more and more straight guys are comfortable having gay friends and some of these remarks are endearing not offensive. They know we are superior on so many levels. Envy our way of life.

Have to say I agree with Doug and Jesse. My straight best friend frequently uses the expression in conversations with me, upon realizing that an unintentional double entendre has escaped his lips. (And this is a guy who’s accompanied me to the Minneapolis Eagle a number of times!)
As for Larry Johnson, I’ve gotten blank looks from OTHER GAY MEN after referring to Christopher Street… this guy appears to, uh, know his stuff!
