Okay I can see why Americans find football boring sometimes because it is a little. But I think Football is like any other sport if you dont like it why watch it and in order to enjoy something as beuatiful as football you need an acquired taste for it or you will not like it.I also dont see why people see football as “gay” which is sad that you would associate an term of sexual orientation with a sport especially when so many people in america want to stop things like hatred toward gays but still choose to call something gay. it makes no sense. But I am an american who respects all sports simply because all athletes have worked to get there(some less than others). I begun watching football since i was 12 and It is sad because others who like football and hope to grow odl playing will not have the chance simply because of the limited oppurtunities offered in parts of the US.And then everyone wants to get world cup fever and jump on the USA bandwagon but then choose to criticize them when they lose. But as the womens team has showed they dont need support rrom fake american bandwagon fans to succeed.

I’m from Germany and really had to laugh about what is being written here.

Question no.1:

Why do people care so much about the fact that many Americans don’t like soccer or find it “gay”?I mean…if they think that way or a sack of rice is falling over in China.Who cares?Oh…stupid question: Obviously there are too many people who care about it.^^

I give a shit about what they think.If they say it sucks or it’s boring…let them think it’s boring.It’s their opinion.I don’t watch American sports because they don’t interest me and therefore I’m not going to judge them.It’s as simple as that.

Question no.2:

What is the purpose of this discussion?

I mean…which sport is the best lies in the eyes of the beholder.It’s a matter of opinion.Nothing more.An American obviously thinks it’s Baseball or football or whatever and the same goes for persons who love to watch soccer.They think there is nothing better to watch than soccer.

Throwing insults at each other is just sooo kindergarten and how some people can mix up a discussion about sports with any wars really boogles my mind.I’ll never understand this and don’t even know why some Americans felt the need to bring it up.~___~

It’s absolutely pointless and doesn’t get us anywhere.But well…go on.I’ll stand on the sidelines with a bag of chips enjoying the partly ridicilous comments that are being posted around here.

Hey guys. I’m American. I love Soccer, or Football. (Wish we could call it football here in America). Don’t call out America. Not everyone in America acts like that; Most do though. You guys can do fuck yourself if its gay. Find some gay soccer players? Even if they were gay. So what? You wouldn’t say anything to there face. Sorry for not wearing the 6 inches of padding though.. forgot that was manly. Oh and the commercials about Beer and chips is a nice touch to American football. Classy.

Real football vs American Football
Cricket vs Baseball
Snooker vs Pool

What does this tell you?
That Americans have got an attention span like a 5 year old.

Oh noooo, they haven’t scored for 5 mins.
They basically can’t appreciate that to score, you need great build ups.
They can’t appreciate great defence.
Or well, they can. But not enough, compared to scoring.

I do know one way to teach them to understand.

Force them to put a huge amount of money on a team – and then let them watch the game.
THEN they’ll understand why a tight 1-0 game can be exciting.

…and just to add: I enjoy American football, baseball etc.
But I get sick and tired of fat Americans, who only finds soccer exciting, when it’s a penalty shoot out.

…and one more thing: You call soccer girly.
Why does the American football players have to wear protection?
Now that’s girly…especially when you compare it to the two rugby codes (especially rugby league).

It’s like asking an American if they’ve watched any foreign cinema.
Ooohhh noooo, we can’t read the subtitles. It’s booooring. There’s not enough action.

If you google soccer haters there are tons of replies but if you google other sports for haters there are not as many. The answer is plain jealousy…. the most popular people ironically have the most haters too. So soccer being the most popular sport has the most fans…and the most haters too. Nothing surprising really. It’s bad human nature. Most people don’t state that they hate such and such a thing unsolicited…but soccer gets a lot of hate articles making preposterous arguments and comments from emotionally retarded people. Nobody cares if americans accept soccer and feel slighted if they don’t..it’s just a figment of the stupid american imagination…but not all americans are stupid.

Every sport should be played anywhere in the world.
Kids love to play sports, so they will fell in love with any sport, even if it’s not the traditional sport of their country.
Sports were invented to be played by anyone in the world.
Soccer has old rules that should be changed, like offsides, penalti kicks, yellow and red cards, free substitutions, the use of a stadium clock, etc.
Soccer is not gay, but players take advantage of a lack well set rules to gain advantage over the opposing team.
I live in a traditionally soccer country, but I play baseball, basketball and football.
I hate to hear people say that I play american sports!!!
Soccer is a british or chinese sport, created a long time ago, and nobody in my country says they play a british or chinese sport, and we are not english or chinese!!!
Most part of people are poorly informed and have a lack in sports culture, that’s why they hate a sport and love other.
