SIRIUS XM Radio will broadcast live from the Gay Softball World Series final, and Outsports is a part of the historic broadcast. The satellite radio’s OutQ channel‘s popular Derek and Romaine (right) will broadcast a special Saturday edition live from 2pm-5pmET on Aug. 21 from Columbus, Ohio. I will provide in-game updates and color commentary on the final day of action. OutQ, SIRIUS XM’s gay channel, is also broadcasting player profiles and other content to support the GSWS the entire month of August.
It’s the first time the GSWS finals have been broadcast over satellite radio; And as far as I know, it’s the first time they’ve been broadcast over any airwaves nationally. Either way, it’ll be a fun show so be sure to tune in! And if you don’t have SIRIUS XM, you can get it free for the next 30 days; Just click on this link.

You going to be in town all week?
It’s going to be an incredible event. Had my volunteer session and all the talk of record number of teams (just under 150 while last year’s 128 was the previous high) and the first time all the teams can play at a single complex.

“In-game updates and color commentary” is not the same thing as saying they’re broadcasting the game. Broadcasting the game is broadcasting the entire game — play-by-play, analysis. If it’s the Derek & Romaine show with them cutting to you for updates, while that’s certainly admirable and possibly quite entertaining, it’s not a game broadcast.
