Croatian soccer exec: Gays are for ballet

Another Croatian soccer chief has joined Vlatko Markovic, the president of Croatian Football Federation, in spewing homophobic comments meant to drive gay people away from soccer. Zdravko Mamic, the executive vice president of the Croatian team Dinamo Zagreb, says gays have no business in soccer. According to the Croatian Times:

“I would not have Gay people playing in my national team either”, Zdravko Mamic of Dinamo Zagreb was quoted as saying to tabloid 24 Sata. “Gay people are for ballet. They can be journalists or writers. They would never put their head in front of a football boot” he said.

Red Card Homophobia has launched an email campaign against the homophobia in Croatian soccer.

Putting your head in front of a football boot would be stupid.

Now putting his head in front of one…that’s up to him.

Gays are for ballet…that’s an insult to ballet dancers who are by far completer athletes as those not so clever and greedy soccer pro players.
