12:40pmPT: Rosie O’Donnell has finally tweeted about meeting Tim Tebow:
And apparently she tried to set up the Broncos back-up starting back-up starting quarterback with Jenny McCarthy:
11:21amPT: NBC Sports says the rumor is not true, and that Tebow talked to Rosie for about 30 seconds. We’ve heard from at least one person who heard the interview. So strange that Francesa would claim otherwise.
11:03amPT: Here’s a photo putting Rosie and Tebow within a few feet of each other. Not sure what that means for the bigger story.
10:37amPT: There’s a story coming out of Indianapolis today that Tim Tebow has refused to do an interview with Rosie O’Donnell “because of her lifestyle.” We’ve heard two reports that WFAN’s Mike Francesa reported on the snub and the reason for it just moments ago. Rosie O’Donnell did tweet an hour ago that she was “At the superbowl press thingy.” She is currently tweeting pics from the event, but no word on the Tebow snub.
If you have more information, please post it below. Story developing…
Hat tip to Charley, Robert and other Tweeters.

Sounds like a made up story that should not be repeated without absolute confirmation. In other words, a bold-faced anti-Christian lie.
on Feb 3rd, 2012 at 2:50 PM
Disgusting. It’s an interview for the public, your fans. She’s not going to rub off what Tebow considers sinful onto him and/or his beliefs by asking questions at a media event! Is this, dare we say it, Christians hate? Does he know the sexual orientation of every interviewer he’s dealt with? So many keep it private! How about restaurants he eats at? Are the owners gay, too? Does he take that into consideration? So I find this absolutely ridiculous if it turns out to be true.

Mike Francesa is a dirty liar.
Here’s a pic of Rosie O’Donnell on the air with Tebow (lower right hand corner) along with Chris Russo and Jenny McCarthy.

Thanks, Brad. Like I said above, ridiculous if it was true. I’m glad it’s not.
on Feb 3rd, 2012 at 3:09 PM
Uh, what’s Tebow doing at the Super Bowl?
on Feb 3rd, 2012 at 3:20 PM
There is no story. Tim Tebow did an interview with Rosie O’Donnell.
on Feb 3rd, 2012 at 3:20 PM
Francesa may have been wrong, but I don’t think it is settled yet.
Note that the “photographic evidence” is a pic showing the Mad Dog Unleashed show – Mad Dog (aka Chris Russo) co-hosted a show with Francesa for almost 20 years. So it’s possible that Francesa had an inside story.
Or maybe the initial report was incorrect. I am no Tebow fan, but I did not expect that he would be quite this ungentlemanly.
on Feb 3rd, 2012 at 3:24 PM
How about the fact that I heard Rosie’s interview with Tim Tebow.
on Feb 3rd, 2012 at 3:34 PM
Another lie about Tebow repeated without evidence.
on Feb 3rd, 2012 at 3:40 PM
Malcolm, we posted this with a question mark in hopes of getting answers. We got the answers and updated the information as soon as it happened, including the post title.
But I’m curious – what other lies about Tebow have been repeated without evidence? I haven’t heard any lies about him at all.
on Feb 3rd, 2012 at 3:43 PM
“But I’m curious – what other lies about Tebow have been repeated without evidence? I haven’t heard any lies about him at all.”
I heard that he had 12-inch hands (one inch for every apostle).

Just to break down the ownership affiliations here:
• Mike Francesa (initially reported the information) – works for WFAN (owned by CBS Radio, which is owned by Viacom), previously hosted show on WNBC.
• Rick Chandler (disputed Francesa’s report) – works for NBC Sports (division of NBC Universal, which is owned by Comcast & General Electric).
• Rosie O’Donnell – works for SiriusXM and OWN (co-owned by Harpo Productions & Discovery Communications).
• Chris “Mad Dog” Russo (in center of O’Donnell/Tebow picture) – works for SiriusXM, co-hosted WFAN program with Francesa from 1989-2008.
• The NFL Network is owned mostly by the National Football League, but Viacom apparently owns about a 10% stake.
I do not think there are any conflicts of interest here, and I do not mean to insinuate any by this comment. I am just saving others from doing duplicate research into connections between these people.

This seems pretty clear cut: A photo of Tebow with Rosie O’Donnell on the radio:

I wonder how many people will never see the followup and simply hear the rumor that Tebow dissed O’Donnell.
on Feb 3rd, 2012 at 4:28 PM
Well seeing as tim tebow disses christanity, it should be no surprise that people who jump on assuming this story is true. Fundementalist anti-jesus christianity has been taking the piss out on rosie o’donnell and others for decades, so you can see why it is easy to believe this.
on Feb 3rd, 2012 at 4:29 PM
“I wonder how many people will never see the followup and simply hear the rumor that Tebow dissed O’Donnell.”
If the rumor is confirmed to be false, I need to apologize for the small part I played in it (because I was one of the people who reported Francesa’s comment to Cyd).
on Feb 3rd, 2012 at 5:27 PM
Francesa should apologize plain and simple and correct his accusation. I wish journalists would realize that their motto should always be ‘get it first but get it right’.
on Feb 3rd, 2012 at 5:57 PM
I bet a lot of people, including Outsports, were hoping for this to be true so that they could jump on Tim Tebow’s throat.
on Feb 3rd, 2012 at 6:27 PM
No, dear iheartMLB. Oh, it’s a part of his anatomy, and his throat is an attractive example of male throats to be sure. But, I’m pretty sure it would be a more prominent part of Tim’s anatomy that most gay men would want to jump – if only a ball gag were installed first.
on Feb 3rd, 2012 at 6:57 PM
Like him or hate him, Tim Tebow is a classy enough guy that he wouldn’t snub someone based on their sexuality – at least I don’t believe he would.
I’m glad this “rumor” has been put to rest and I hope anyone who retweeted it, can either post verification that it did not happen or go back and delete the retweet.

First off, it’s not a “lifestyle”, which by definition, is something you choose to do. It is simply who we are by nature, end of story. I am an agnostic who despises Tebow – and so should any Christian out there who thinks he’s just the greatest thing. He’s exploiting your savior for the betterment of his career and you don’t even see it. God’s helping him win games? Really? Well, seems like God’s doing some sloppy work because you kinda-sort of lost a few games and you kinda-sort of AREN’T in the Super Bowl. GOD MAKES NO MISTAKES. We are BORN THIS WAY.
on Feb 3rd, 2012 at 7:56 PM
J.R., you obviously dont read well or on another planet. The “story” is a lie, dude.
on Feb 3rd, 2012 at 7:59 PM
@J.R. Tebow did an interview today and talked about that very thing if God helps him win games. You need to watch his first take interview.
on Feb 4th, 2012 at 1:12 AM
Hey JR are you trying to say that now calling it a “lifestyle” is an insult? What word are you going to assume ownership of next.
And your agnostic viewpoint is fine. But for you to say anything regarding him doing this for his career makes you look stupid to anyone who knows anything about him. I aint in love with the guy but certainly can respect his beliefs. I wonder if you carry on regarding muslims and their praying. You probably think its for attention though right?
Just because you dont buy into it and dont think its possible to believe like he does that doesnt mean he is doing it for the same reasons you would.
on Feb 4th, 2012 at 4:31 AM
@Tom: Please remind me of any Muslim NFL players who make as overt a display of their faith as Tebow does.
Tebow, incidentally, violates the very teachings of his so-called Savior with each and every incidence of “Tebowing.” Per Luke 18: 9-14
9. And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:
10. Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.
11. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
12. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
13. And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
14. I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
Seems that Jesus looked more favorably on the man who displayed humility in prayer rather than the man who made a spectacle of his praying. I guess Tebow missed that lesson in Sunday School. If Tebow wants to spend his time praying, he might want to quit making such a fucking spectacle of his praying. For starters, this notion that he should “tebow” ONLY when he’s made a “good” play is a basic violation of the typical Christian relationship to God and Jesus; most Christian tradition and thought views the idea of “selfish” prayer–that is, praying for one’s PERSONAL benefit–as being very UNChristian. God (again, by traditional Christian thought) expects His followers to accept, and even honor, Him through good and bad; basically, Tebow should be “tebowing” whether he throws a successful 80-yard touchdown pass or he gets sacked by the opposing team (after all, God’s will was being done in both situations).
As for your little deflection onto Muslims, bear in mind that Islam has a far more regulated system of prayer than Christianity does. IMS, there’s nothing in Islamic tradition or practice that’s remotely equivalent of Tebow’s showboating.
There’s also the fact that Tebow violates the Commandment that mandates “no work on the Sabbath.” To the best of my knowledge, Tebow doesn’t belong to one of the couple of Christian denominations that acknowledge Saturday as the Sabbath (which would’ve put a serious crimp in his college football career), so for someone making such a big show of his “piety,” he certainly chose the wrong career.

A repost from another person, but appropriate for all the tightasses out there… Please note the reference to pig’s skin.
“Laura Schlesinger is a US radio personality, who dispenses advice to people who call in to her radio show. She recently said that, as an observant Orthodox Jew, homosexuality is an abomination, according to Leviticus 18:22, and cannot be condoned under any circumstances. The following response is an open letter to Dr. Laura which was posted on the Internet.
Dear Dr. Laura:
Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God’s Law. I have learned a great deal from your show, and try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind them that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination… End of debate.
I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some other elements of God’s Laws and how to follow them.
1. Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can’t I own Canadians?
2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?
3. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness – Lev.15: 19-24. The problem is how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.
4. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord – Lev.1:9. The problem is, my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?
5. I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath.Exodus 35:2. clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself, or should I ask the police to do it?
6. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination – Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don’t agree. Can you settle this? Are there ‘degrees’ of abomination?
7. Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle- room here?
8. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev. 19:27. How should they die?
9. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?
10. My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev.19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? Lev.24:10-16.
Couldn’t we just burn them to death at a private family affair, like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)
I know you have studied these things extensively and thus enjoy considerable expertise in such matters, so I am confident you can help. Thank you again for reminding us that God’s word is eternal and unchanging.”

Seriously? What a waste of space. More stories on now comparatively rich out guys and their 20 something true loves, despite having to remain closeted through sheer mental force of society, please.
on Feb 5th, 2012 at 1:48 AM
My two cents: Even if Tebow had blown of Rosie, who really gives a crap? I mean, there’s no law saying that you have to grant interviews to anybody. If his supposed reasons had been because she was gay, then so be it… he would then just be displaying his ignorance to the world. After all, if Joel Osteen believes that gays can make it to Heaven, then why in the hell should we care what an over-hyped, poor excuse for a quarterback thinks?
