Tom Brady’s wife, Gisele Bundchen, rips Patriots receivers after Super Bowl loss

Gisele Bundchen, the supermodel and wife of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady ripped his receivers for dropping passes after the Pats lost the Super Bowl to the New York Giants, 21-17. She was heard saying this by Insider.com:

“You (have) to catch the ball when you’re supposed to catch the ball. My husband cannot (bleeping) throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time. I can’t believe they dropped the ball so many times.”

I can understand Mrs. Brady being pissed and there were some big drops, but this has not gone over well. It’s not like her husband was blameless. He gave the Giants two points when he panicked and threw the ball away in the end zone, giving the Giants a safety. He also threw an ill-advised long pass that was intercepted in the fourth quarter and finished the game 7 for 18. Brady failed to lead his team to any points in the game’s final 25 minutes.

The most critical drop was that of Wes Welker, a play that turned the game. But even then, Brady’s pass was somewhat off, turning an easy catch into one more difficult (though one Welker should have made). I know Brady will not be criticizing his teammates since he knows they have bailed him out many times in the past and this stuff evens out; plus, he’s a great teammate. His wife should have just kept her thoughts to herself.

This is how this is being seen in Boston, as evidenced by this comment:

3 Super Bowl wins pre-Gisele.
0 Super Bowl wins (2 SB losses) with Gisele.
Already had one “Yoko” comment to me on twitter.

Yoko? That’s awesome.

I said months ago the problem with the Patriots for the last four years hasn’t been the defense – it’s been Tom Brady. The D held the Giants to 19 points last night…and Brady still couldn’t win. He has played poorly five of their last six playoff games. Something’s not right with him – the Yoko nickname fits pretty well.

She’s a fucking model — getting by purely on genetics and starvation, and she has the nerve to start criticizing others who actually put in backbreaking work into how they do their job?

She was with a group of people that she knows and she said something that a person videotaping her was able to record from a few feet away. God forbid.

And she has a point. He threw at least a few good passes that simply weren’t caught. It was mentioned in the fourth quarter that both QB’s had a chance to break the record (or at least come close) in passing percentage in a Super Bowl.

If you blame Tom Brady for the loss because of the safety, you’re ignoring 99% of the game.

Ted, I did not blame Brady for the loss, simply pointed out that he was far from blameless.

I can safely assume, aside from the Giants victory, Big Blue Cowboy and I are experiencing some schadenfreude watching the Patriots and their patsies.

@Lucrece no need to put down how Gisele made her millions, she word hard for her money.

Tom Brady does share some of the blame as well as his receivers. That’s what some of the former NFL players were talking about today, how if the ball touched your hands then you should have caught it.

Frankly I thought Brady played pretty well. The Patriots hardly saw the ball in the first quarter and during the game they never had good starting field position. He was brilliant at the end of the 2nd quarter and the start of the 3rd quarter, completing a Superbowl record 16 straight passes.

With a a two-point lead and 8 minutes to go, he led the Patriots down the field. If Welker doesn’t drop that pass, the Patriots may have used up the final eight minutes on the clock.

The Patriots lost because of Welker’s drop, Gronkowski’s bad ankle and most importantly because their defense let the Giants drive 88 yards in the final 3:46. They didn’t lose because of Tom Brady.

Forgot to add maybe The Patriots losing is payback for them cheating during the playoffs against the Ravens and the whole scoreboard situation.

She was being heckled by Giants fans and stuck up for her husband. I kinda like it.

She is absolutely right! The receivers lost this game for the Pats! Buck up you morons if you weren’t so drunk and if the Pats receivers could have caught even 50% of what was thrown to them they would be having a parade and celebrating in the streets of Beantown. Pats Defense couldn’t stop them when it counted also.

And pro athletes are where they are purely through hard work? Hahahahahaha. Pro athletes are some of the biggest beneficiaries of the genetic lottery on this planet.

She was speaking to a few friends that just happened to be overheard by the media. She was “standing by her man” and I do not blame her not one little bit……
