Phil Mickelson hit a drive into the last place you’d expect to find the golf pro’s ball: Another guy’s shorts. What did the guy get out of it? A few minutes of national attention and a ball signed by Mickelson. Not the guy’s ball, Mickelson’s ball. In his shorts.

Hahahaha, love that.
I went to the final round on Sunday. Rivieria is incredible, a beautiful (and beautifully maintained) course in the middle of a crowded residential area. The weather was terrific and I wandered around following various players (my boy Padraig Harrington, Jim Furyk, the final threesome), it was good exercise.
I parked myself high on the hill by the stands at 18. When Mickelson, then the hot Keegan Bradley hit long putts to send it to the extra rounds, the place went nuts. Too bad they both didn’t hit great second shots on the second playoff round, but well played by Bill Haas. I had a great time, there were lots of 20-50-something hotties in the crowd, though getting out of there with 15,000 other people was a bit of a nightmare.
