“My roommate said that he picked me up by the waste and slammed me down on the ground.”

Are those highights in his hair?

Another closeted gay male committing acts of violence against his own community.

Disappointing to hear this about conduct from students at my alma mater. One correction, it is the CMU Mavericks (not Mustangs).

Why is this necessary? Would you single out some African-American students and pound their head into the pavement? No, you wouldn’t because we all got to the point where we all agreed that was stupid.

So, why is it okay to treat people who are different from you with such scorn and disrespect?

Do you want somebody to come into your bedroom and question the love you have for your partner? Considering the rate of divorce in this country I don’t think there is a moral high ground among the “Christians.”

This barbaric savage tops all the recent douchebags who have made anti-gay tweets or statements. The fact that this is a man who did this against a woman makes it twice as bad in my opinion as I don’t believe in putting your hands on a woman for any reason. I’ve always been a bit more Malcolm X than Martin Luther King so I wouldn’t at all feel bad if someone kicked this guy’s ass in the future.

Maybe he’ll meet a man who thinks he looked at him the wrong way in prison.

@Dave, stuff like that does still happen to black people.

@mdterp01 I agree the Malcolm X method or Black Panther method would be preferable in attacks based on sexual orientation, race, gender, religion, etc. This way you jump on someone and you get a foot or a bullet in return.

It would help if the story mentioned where this happened (i.e. where’s the bar located?) I guess we can assume it took place somewhere in the state of Colorado.

What is with the Malcom X MLK comparison? Some idiot kid got out of control and should be punished harshly. He will carry this on his record forever and is realizing by now that he ruined football for himself and marked his future. That. Is what he deserves. The comments here about beating and shooting represent the same idiotic mentality. Furthermore, if hate crimes laws are going to be enforced in this country they should also protect majority groups. Any crime that is motivated by race or sexual orientation should be included if this is going to be part of our system. There are many crimes that are perpetrated against racial majorities, for example, that are motivated by racially motivated hatred. Growing up in a predominantly black neighborhood and being white I was often attacked by groups of black people only because I was white and for no other reason. I was not robbed usually and racial taunts where usually involved. I would like to hear what people have say about this scenerio related to hate crime laws. I’m always surprised that this kind or minority on majority crime is not included under the laws regarding hate crimes. Our attorney general Eric Holder believes that the spirit of these laws was to protect minorities only. I find that to be absolutely illogical and borderline racist coming from a member of the black minority. This is an educated man and a leader of our judicial system. How can he be so flawed in his reasoning?

Shane Williams is a good kid. He has always been a good kid. I’m sure this isn’t what it seems. I’m sure it was a joke that got out of hand. It may have been a mistake. I know Shane Williams would not intentionally hurt anyone, male or female. In fact, I know it’s not what it seems. I know Shane would never do such a thing, especially to a girl.

This is bullshit, this isnt for real. Shane would never hurt a girl, he would never intentionally hurt anyone, regardless of the sex. He is a great person with a lot of potential. It was obviously an accident and for this girl to press charges is just ridiculous. its just some girl looking for attention.
