Openly gay Paralympic equestrian rider Lee Pearson has had another very successful Paralympic Games. While he had hoped for three golds, he'll have to "settle" for a rainbow of medals: one gold, one silver and a bronze. His hope going into these games was to score his 12th gold medal. While he'll have to wait for Rio in four years to accomplish that, his 10 golds is the most-ever for a Paralympic equestrian rider.
His gold came in the Team Championship, as Great Britain dominated the competition. Pearson was the only male on the team. Silver came in the Individual Championship – Grade 1b; Bronze was in the Individual Freestyle – Grade 1b.

Great Britain’s Claire Harvey is the other openly gay Paralympian. Competing in women’s sitting volleyball, she and the Brits got smoked, losing all three pool-play matches, 3-0. Only once did they muster more than 20 points in a game (the second game against Japan).
