]]> The ‘It Gets Better’ videos produced by Major League Baseball teams keep breaking new ground. The most recent is the Seattle Mariners video, which includes players from four Seattle-based pro sports teams. Mariners relief pitcher Brandon League and infielder Brendan Ryan are there, but so are Seattle Seahawk wide receiver Mike Williams, MLS players Mike Fucito and Roger Levesque, and WNBA players Lauren Jackson and Swin Cash. Only a couple NFL players have been in ‘It Gets Better’ videos; Williams says in this one:

If you’re being bullied or feel like you’re all alone in the world, reach out for help…It gets better.

I saw there’s already one “dislike” on the YouTube page for the video. It seems impossible, but I guess some people support bullying.

The earthquake who’s epicenter was the Seattle Seahawks firing Jim Mora Jr. has now plowed into Knoxville.

The sudden hire of USC’s head coach Pete Carroll (enjoy that one Seattle fans), left a huge vacancy.  And Southern Cal has filled it by snatching University of Tennessee head coach Lane Kiffin (pictured at right).  Details are still very sketchy at this point, but Kiffin has confirmed the move and will be introduced as head coach at USC later this or early next week.

This is devastating news for the Volunteer faithful as their recruiting class for this entire season (and probably the last one) has been flushed down the toilet.  But hey… they called him crazy last year (and probably will again when he fires Tom Cable tomorrow) but it actually looks like Al Davis and his overhead projector are vindicated.

Note: Below is the result of a well-executed April Fool’s joke. The XFL is not longer ahead of its time.

More and more NFL teams are taking advantage of the league’s rules on alternate uniforms to sell more jerseys to their fans. What Seattle Seahawk fan in their right mind would buy a lime green jersey with the word “Hasselbeck” on the back is beyond me; But someone inside the franchise obviously thought there was a market for it. Who knew: with ugly uniforms like this, the XFL was actually ahead of its time.
