Video: Mitcham’s 6 dives, medal ceremony

A terrific 15-minute video edited from the worldwide Olympic feed showing all six of Mitcham’s final dives, the celebration after where he hugs practically every diver, the medal ceremony and him jumping into the stands to give his flowers and a kiss to his partner, Lachlan Fletcher. After the jump.

Note: To see the action starting with Mitcham’s sixth and final dive, fast-forward to 6:40. From then, it’s celebration they never showed on NBC. Mitcham races into the stands at the 13:50 mark.

The first post in my oppion was very uncalled for. Sounds like some one that has a problem. I was very proud of him and his braveness for him being open about his sexual preference as many that were there that was gay wouldn’t do it.

Thanks for this video which NBC chose to not show in the US, even though it was a huge accomplishment for Matthew and a huge upset for the Chinese. It should have been showed in its entirety not because of him being gay but just because of what he did. NBC chose to not show it because of his being gay.

That was so awesome. We’re all so happy for him!
