Look up in the sky! It’s a bird! It’s a plane! Its Stephen Nedoroscik!

The adorkable member of the U.S. Men’s Gymnastics team, who won a bronze medal yesterday for the pommel horse competition, also won the hearts of social media where he has been dubbed “The Clark Kent of Pommel Horse.”

One post juxtaposed his bespectacled visage with that of Christopher Reeves, the titular star of the 1978 blockbuster film Superman, while in the guise of his mild-mannered alter ego.

But the soft-spoken Nedoroscik’s geek cred permeates beyond mere aesthetics. The Penn State alum competed on the university’s gymnastics team for four years while simultaneously earning a degree in electrical engineering.

He’s also adroit with a Rubik’s Cube, which was showcased in a recent social media post.

“To truly understand Stephen Nedoroscik’s nerd credentials, you need to know that he is in Paris for the Olympics and posting to his insta story about solving a Rubik’s cube in under 10 seconds.”

Another post gushed about hot professor vibes.

“Obsessed with this one guy on the US Men’s gymnastics team who looks like he’s getting his PhD in anthropology and his only job is pommel horse.”

Nedoroscik’s most defining feature is his Buddy Holly glasses, which is in no way a hipster-esque fashion choice. The Olympian suffers from what is known as strabismus, which results in crossed eyes, as well as coloboma, resulting from a partial loss of eye tissue.

While his Coke bottle frames have quickly likened him to Clark Kent, to some he is just as heroic as Superman. While in Paris, Nedoroscik had the opportunity to kiki with a boy who lives with the same ophthalmological condition that he does, which was posted on the @USAGym IG account:

“A really, really special moment as @stephen_nedoroscik got to meet (and give pins to) a young fan with the same eye condition as him.”

He even got to exchange glasses with Hoda Kotb:

While Nedoroscik may not be gay, he now has a big gay following.
