French pole vaulter Anthony Ammirati is a little too well-hung, at least when it came to clearing the bar during the men’s pole vault at the Paris Summer Olympics on Saturday in an attempt that went viral.

On his third and final attempt at 5.70 meters (18 feet 7 inches) in the qualifications, Ammirati appeared to have cleared the bar until his penis got in the way, helping to knock down the bar. In watching the frame-by-frame video in the interests of journalistic accuracy, it appears as if his left knee first starts to dislodge the bar and then his bulge finishes the job.

With the miss, Ammirati, 21, finished 12th in his group and did not make the final, but he did give the internet something wholesome to go viral over.

Nocontextgay, a popular X account, racked up 53,000 likes and 3.6 million views on a post before the video of the event was disabled after he apparently got a violation of copyright. Spoilsports! It’s possible the X post on this page could also have the video disabled, but trust me, it happened.

As you can imagine, the internet was awash in every anatomical pun you can imagine, though missing out on the finals is no laughing matter to Ammirati.

This is reminiscent of a similar vault at the 2016 Olympics where the same claim was made against a Japanese pole vaulter and later disproved.

If there is a side benefit for Ammirait, his Instagram account gained more than 20,000 followers today.
