Adam Rippon is best-known for his medal-winning performance at the 2018 Winter Olympics that launched him into American sports lore.

And yes, he’s also made a name for himself with a winning sense of humor.

He is bringing both to bear reporting on the Paris Summer Olympics for NBC from the very French state of Connecticut.

It’s no wonder that Rippon has been tabbed by NBC to be part of their team covering the Paris Games. He’s a natural in front of the camera: comfortable and always with a good quip.

As with every Games, some of the reporting happens from NBC’s base camp, in this case Connecticut. And Rippon is having fun with his assignment.

“Connecticut does have its similarities to France,” Rippon says in the first video of his series of Paris Olympics reports. “They both have people who love cigarettes.

“They also… yeah, that might be it.”

Having been to both several times, and working from here in Paris during the Games, his observation isn’t far off.

Rippon also gave fans a sultry look from the shore. It’s as though he’s sitting on the French coast along the Mediterranean. Just like it.

His behind-closed doors look at getting dressed in the wee hours of the morning before a broadcast gave us a good shot of Rippon in his underwear. It also drew praise from the king of zhuzh himself, Carson Kressley, who commented: A masterpiece!

While NBC correspondents in Paris might be giving viewers and insider look at the Eiffel Tower or the Louvre, Rippon offers the unique, behind-the-scenes view of an office cubical belonging to none other than NBC social-media coordinator Brooke Taylor.

What will Rippon reveal next on his journey to Paris… in Connecticut? You can follow him on Instagram to find out.
